Chef Osman Sezener and Mixologist Matthias Giroud Bring an Exclusive Gastronomic Experience to Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Region

This Eid Al-Fitr, the tranquil majesty of the Red Sea desert becomes the backdrop for a celebration of flavor, innovation, and luxury hospitality at Desert Rock Resort. From April 2 to April 4, Michelin-starred Chef Osman Sezener and world-renowned mixologist Matthias Giroud are set to craft a three-night dining experience that promises to be as unforgettable as the setting itself.
Framed as a multi-sensory culinary journey, the collaboration between the acclaimed duo blends artistry and experimentation, pairing each thoughtfully curated dish with a bespoke cocktail. Held at the resort’s signature venues—Nyra and the Majlis Tent—each evening will offer a distinct concept, inviting guests into a world where culinary storytelling meets Saudi hospitality.
A Three-Night Culinary Showcase
The journey begins on Wednesday, April 2, with “Journey Through Chef Osman’s Garden”. This elegant menu highlights premium meats and bold Mediterranean flavors, featuring local cheese ravioli, slow-cooked beef cheek with eggplant beğendi, and ending with Chef Osman’s signature baklava. Each dish is artfully paired with creative mocktails, such as a red grape cold infusion with mesir and sparkling clear apple juice with vanilla rooibos tea.
On Thursday, April 3, guests are invited to a family-style Turkish Feast, a warm and authentic dining experience rooted in Anatolian heritage. Shared platters include traditional mezzes, Aegean-style zucchini fritters, and a standout lamb liver pilaf with slow-cooked lamb shank. Complementing the dishes are nuanced pairings like smoked tea and red grape infusion, delicately enhanced with sumac and dried apricot.

The experience crescendos on Friday, April 4, with a Mediterranean Seafood menu, where land and sea meet in delicate harmony. The offerings include Hamachi ceviche, asparagus and octopus, and red mullet with artichoke and tarragon sauce—all paired with signature infusions, such as white grape with green bell pepper and oregano.
Throughout the evenings, guests will also enjoy a live DJ set by LËEX, known for chilled electronic beats that echo the ethereal energy of the desert night. As a final indulgent touch, Chef Osman will personally visit tables, sharing insights and inspirations behind the curated menus.
A Desert Escape for Eid
To complement the culinary celebration, Desert Rock Resort has launched an exclusive Eid Al-Fitr Staycation offer. Guests booking a three-night stay will enjoy a complimentary night, while those booking five nights will receive two nights free—both inclusive of breakfast for two.
Accommodations include a range of luxurious options, from the family-friendly Wadi Villas to the breathtaking Cliff-Hanging Villas and Mountain Caves, carved into the rugged stone landscape. The offer is valid from March 31 to April 13, 2025, providing a serene setting for connection, reflection, and true hafawah—the spirit of Saudi hospitality.
