Review: A Night at Attache

Where global cuisine and creative ambiance meet in the heart of the DQ

In the heart of Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, where embassies and elegance meet, Attaché has quickly established itself as a magnetic destination for elevated dining, social discovery, and cultural rhythm. Seamlessly blending European sensibility with Riyadh sophistication, Attaché isn’t merely a restaurant—it’s an immersive lifestyle concept, complete with a stylish terrace, and now, an atmospheric new hookah lounge.

On our latest visit, the culinary experience proved as captivating as the design. Led by a team of chefs who clearly understand balance, presentation, and seasonality, the menu at Attaché takes its cues from continental classics, interpreted with fresh nuance.

We began with the Swiss Comté Twice-Baked Soufflé—a standout dish that is as much a textural experience as it is a flavor triumph. Lightly golden with a luxuriously airy interior, the soufflé arrives atop a velvety cheese sauce, striking the perfect note between indulgence and refinement. It’s the kind of appetizer that sets the bar high, and rightly so.

Next came the English Goat Cheese Salad, which might just be the most elegantly rustic salad in the capital. Generous chunks of tart goat cheese paired with heritage greens, toasted walnuts, and thinly sliced pear created a plate both vibrant and earthy. The honey-thyme vinaigrette delivered just enough brightness to tie it all together—fresh, clean, and deeply satisfying.

For the main course, the Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli offered a comforting pause—a handmade pillow of dough filled with creamy ricotta and herbed spinach. The portion was perfectly restrained, the pasta tender, and the nuttiness of the butter and tanginess of the sauce playing off the ricotta’s richness in every bite.

And then, the showstopper: Australian MB5 Wagyu Sirloin. Cooked to a blushing medium-rare and sliced with precision, this dish commands attention. The marble score translates into a melt-in-your-mouth finish that leaves a smokiness in it wake. It’s a main course that understands restraint and richness in equal measure.

To finish, we tried the Saudi Coffee Tiramisu, a house creation that pays tribute to both Italian classicism and Saudi flavors. Swapping the espresso for spiced Saudi qahwa brings unexpected warmth and aroma to the dessert, while the mascarpone remains luxuriously light. It’s nostalgic and novel all at once—a clever regional homage.

What makes Attaché stand apart is its layered experience. After dinner, guests can move into Club Unstable, a club that pulses with curated sound, dimmed lighting, and a cosmopolitan cocktail culture. It feels like something out of London’s Soho or Paris’s Marais—intimate, stylish, and always two steps ahead.

And for those looking to unwind under open skies, the newly launched Hookah Lounge offers a serene yet stylish environment where shisha culture meets design-forward sensibility. With low lighting and soft house music, it’s become a new favorite for late-night conversations and creative energy.

The Verdict

Attaché continues to push the boundaries of Riyadh’s lifestyle dining scene. It’s refined but not formal, social but not loud, with a pulse that reflects the evolving tastes of the city’s most discerning diners. From perfectly crafted soufflés to Saudi-infused tiramisu, from club nights to shisha lounges, this is Riyadh’s diplomatic address for the culturally curious.
